Our warranty, in plain language

We have sold these playsets since 2007 and have never had a set returned for rot or decay. The terms below are the formal version of a simple promise: if something is wrong with the set, we put it right, and a real person handles it, not a form.

Kids Play series: 5-year Woodlit warranty

• The whole set is covered for 5 years from delivery against rot, decay and structural defects. There are no maintenance conditions. Annual sealing keeps the warm colour of the cedar, but the warranty does not depend on it.
• Not covered: natural weathering of the wood to a silver-grey tone, small surface cracks (checking) that are natural to cedar and do not affect strength, damage from misuse or modification, and normal wear of ropes, swing seats and other consumable parts.
• Use: Kids Play sets are designed and warranted for home use.

Family Play series: limited lifetime structural warranty

• Every Family Play playground carries the same 5-year Woodlit warranty as Kids Play, plus the Backyard Adventures limited lifetime structural warranty against rot, decay and defects that affect the structural integrity of above-ground wood, slides, powder-coated steel and hardware. Backyard Adventures is the guarantor of that warranty.
• The lifetime warranty applies to the original owner only and cannot be passed on. It covers home use, and it depends on the yearly care described in the owner's manual, such as staining once a year and tightening the hardware each season. Under it you pay the freight and any labour for replacement parts, and modifying the set ends it. We register your set with Backyard Adventures for you.
• The Grand Olympic playground, sold in Poland and Lithuania, carries the 5-year Woodlit warranty only.
• EN 1176: Family Play sets are certified to EN 1176, the European public playground standard. For the certificate to remain valid, which matters for hotels, campsites and any public setting, the set must be installed by our certified crew. In business and public settings the Backyard Adventures warranty does not apply; you receive the Woodlit 5-year warranty, the crew's installation guarantee and the EN 1176 certificate, as stated in your quote.

60-Day Guarantee (Kids Play)

If the set is not the hit you hoped for, tell us within 60 days of delivery and we take it back:

• Disassemble the set and pack it into the original boxes, so please keep them until you are sure.
• We arrange collection from your home. A collection fee applies, listed by country in our Refund policy, so you know the figure in advance.
• A 15% restocking fee applies, because a returned set cannot be sold as new.
• The balance is refunded once the set arrives back with us and is checked. The set should be complete and undamaged beyond normal signs of careful assembly.
• The guarantee covers every Kids Play swing set bought on woodlit.eu. It does not apply to Family Play sets, which are supplied to order. Your separate 14-day legal right to cancel is described in the Refund policy.

How to make a claim

Email hello@woodlit.eu with your order number, a short description and a few photos. We respond within one working day. Warranty claims are resolved with replacement parts shipped free, a repair, or, where neither is possible, a replacement or refund.

Transit damage and missing parts

Please check the boxes on delivery, note any visible damage on the delivery note, and report transit damage or factory-missing parts as soon as you can, ideally within 7 days. In nineteen years these have been the only claims we have ever actually received, and replacement parts ship free of charge.

Your statutory rights

Nothing on this page limits your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law, including the legal guarantee of conformity: if a product is faulty you are entitled to a free remedy for at least two years from delivery, three years in Spain and Portugal, and in Ireland you can bring a claim for up to six years. Where our warranty gives you more than the law requires, you get the better of the two.
